We are looking for a passionate Commis – Healthy Cuisine to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have experience preparing nutritious, balanced, and high-quality meals while maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards. You will assist senior chefs in preparing healthy dishes, meal prep, and ensuring consistency in food quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook healthy meals according to recipes and company standards.
- Assist with mise en place and daily food preparation.
- Ensure proper portion control and food presentation.
- Handle fresh ingredients, vegetables, grains, lean proteins, and healthy cooking methods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
- Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors about shortages.
- Minimize food waste and follow cost-control procedures.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Support the kitchen team with other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience as a Commis Chef, preferably in healthy cuisine, meal prep, or wellness-focused restaurants.
- Knowledge of healthy cooking techniques such as grilling, steaming, roasting, and baking.
- Familiarity with dietary preferences including high-protein, low-carb, gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian meals.
- Basic knowledge of nutrition and portion control is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
