The Commis – Bakery is responsible for assisting in the preparation and production of baked goods, including breads, croissants, and desserts, while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and baking of breads, cakes, pastries, and other bakery items
- Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients according to standard recipes
- Support senior chefs in daily bakery operations
- Ensure all food items are prepared as per quality and presentation standards
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bakery section
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP guidelines)
- Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory control
- Properly store ingredients and finished products
- Operate bakery equipment safely (ovens, mixers, proofers)
- Assist in receiving and checking deliveries
Requirements:;
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients
- Culinary or bakery certification is an advantage.
- 2 years of experience in a bakery.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and take direction
